Many people are getting excited as the Fourth of July quickly approaches. Visions of hot-dogs, corn hole tournaments, and sparklers dance in their heads. The holiday reminds us to be thankful for our freedoms and to bask in the beauty of our great nation. Many folks enjoy spending time with their friends and family, eating picnic delights, and observing firework shows. Although Covid-19 may have an impact on how we celebrate this year, we can still find ways to have a nice time. Read on to see some of our tips are for truckers this Fourth of July.
Safety:
The Fourth of July brings with it many driving hazards. This is one of the busiest weekends of the year as more vehicles will be travelling on the highways than normal. Stay patient and keep an eye out for traffic updates. As a professional driver, you need to stay alert and drive defensively. Also, try to stay off of the roads whenever possible because there may be more drunk drivers out than normal.
Theft:
Before joining in the festivities, be sure to lock up your cargo and cab and park in well lit areas. Cargo thefts in the United States tend to rise over this holiday weekend. Never leave any valuables laying out and stay vigilant.
Enjoy Yourself:
No matter how you choose to celebrate, enjoy yourself! Try to find time to kick back and relax. If you can’t be home this Fourth of July, stop and pick yourself up some grilled food, turn up the tunes, and watch a patriotic movie or two.
